The poles of Earth and Mars stand out from a distance.

The ends of the Earth and the ends of Mars are both extreme locations. While the poles of both planets are unique, they share some remarkable similarities.
With a NASA probe set to land on Mars' arctic region this weekend, we set out to compare the two worlds.
